  • Structure determines behavior
  • Systems will resist behavior that doesn't match structure
  • There is no place for hypothesis is science
  • Start with nothing - resist applying models to reality using comparative thinking
  • Create a picture - covert the words to a picture of the whole thing
  • Ask questions - to makes sure the picture is right
    • Information - fill out picture by adding details
    • Clarification - insure you understand how the persons is using their words
    • Implication - clarify dynamics implied by statements
    • Discrepancy - clarify apparently contradictory statements
  • Reflect - repeat the picture
